Euro Prop Money Compliance
Euro Prop Money Compliance
At EuroPropMoney.eu, our prop euros are intended exclusively for legitimate creative and production purposes, including film, television, photography, theatre, commercials, music videos and other artistic projects.
Euro-style banknote reproductions are subject to rules designed to prevent confusion with genuine euro banknotes. The European Central Bank (ECB) provides specific requirements for physical and digital reproductions.
Physical Euro Prop Reproductions
The ECB reproduction rules vary depending on how a banknote reproduction is produced. Requirements can relate to:
- The size of the reproduction
- Whether one or both sides are reproduced
- Whether only part of a banknote is reproduced
- The material used
- Whether the reproduction could be mistaken for a genuine banknote
For example, the ECB states that two-sided reproductions must be at least 200% or at most 50% of the original dimensions, while one-sided reproductions must be at least 125% or at most 75%.
Digital Reproductions
Digital reproductions are subject to separate requirements. The ECB states that full-banknote digital reproductions must include the word “specimen” according to its specified format and must not exceed 72 dpi at 100% of the original size.
Intended Use
Our prop euros are supplied for creative and entertainment purposes only.
They are not legal tender and must not be used as genuine currency, for payments, deposits, exchanges or any form of deception.
Customers are responsible for using our products in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in their country or jurisdiction.
Customer Responsibility
ECB guidance states that responsibility for complying with reproduction requirements rests with the reproducer. Special permission is generally not required when the applicable reproduction rules are followed.
Customers should therefore ensure that their intended use complies with applicable EU, national and local requirements.
